Bristol Walk

On Saturday the 28th June we will be walking to Bristol from Midsomer Norton. If you are in the area and fancy a walk you are welcome to join us.

If you are capable of walking 21 miles over varied terrain including roads, fields and possibly encountering stiles etc. then we will be leaving South Wansdyke Leisure Centre as soon as possible after 9am. See google maps.

If you fancy a bit of a shorter walk then we will be meeting people by the church in Pensford (near the viaduct: map) at 2:30pm. From here it is about 8 miles to our final destination in Long Ashton.

If you would like to join us but don’t want to do 8 miles then we will have a final meeting place of the carpark near the church in Dundry (map), 3 miles from the end of the day’s walk. We will be leaving here at about 4:30pm.

It would be really helpful if you could let us know if you are intending to come either by e-mailing/phoning one of us or posting on this blog but if for some reason you can’t and you’re in the right place at the right itme we won’t turn you away! Please note however, that these times are our best guess only. We won’t leave before the time we said but we may be up to an hour late depending on when we can leave our accommodation, how lost we get and what obstacles we encounter.

Please dress for the weather (sun hats, raincoats, sensible shoes are a must…) and bring plenty of water and food for the distance you are walking. If you want to get your own friends to sponsor you (or us!) for the day that’d be great but not necessary.

In case any of you are camera shy (or looking for your big break) bits of the day are being filmed by our official videographer for a documentary.
